About the Academy

In 2022, Royal Decree (27/2022) was issued to establish the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies in Bait Al Falaj Camp. The Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies is comprised of the National Defence College, the Joint Command and Staff College, and the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies. The academy aims to develop strategic studies in accordance with plans and programmes authorised by the board of directors of the academy; broaden perspectives and improve strategic thinking, analytical ability and strategic planning among course participants; prepare and qualify national cadres to hold senior military, security and civil positions at the strategic level; and create an environment within the academy that fosters innovation, and generates ideas and insights typical of national and international think tanks.
